Do we really need OpenID?
Could this be the universal authentication system that the NZ government is looking for as part of its eGovernment strategy?
Doesn't browser-based password management kind of make OpenID redundant from a user's perspective?
Or will the natural laziness of programmers mean that they'll jump at the chance to use OpenID instead of reinventing the wheel?
What ever happened to Microsoft Passport anyway? |

We don't *need* OpenID.
But governments wanting 'electronic intercourse' with users will eventually require something like this.
I thought this sounded quite good myself, so got my preferred OpenID name last year - before anyone else nabbed it. |
